AI Voice Prompt Starter

AI Voice Prompt Starter

The questions to answer before you write anything with AI — so what comes out actually sounds like you. Copy the prompt below, fill in your answers, and paste it into Claude or ChatGPT as your starting point.

How to use this

Copy the prompt below. Answer each question in plain language — do not overthink it. Paste your completed version at the top of any new Claude or ChatGPT conversation before you ask it to write anything. That is it. You are giving the AI enough context to start from your voice instead of a generic one.

You do not need to answer every question perfectly. A rough answer is better than a blank. The more specific you are, the better the output.

The prompt

You are helping me write content for my business. Before we start, here is the context you need to write in my voice: MY BUSINESS – What I do: [describe your service in one sentence] – Who I work with: [describe your ideal client] – What makes me different: [one or two things that set you apart] MY VOICE – How I would describe my tone: [e.g. direct, warm, no-fluff, conversational] – Words or phrases I use a lot: [list a few if you can] – Things I never say: [list any phrases that feel off-brand or too salesy] – How formal or casual I am: [e.g. I write like I talk, I keep it professional but not stiff] MY AUDIENCE – What my clients are usually worried about or trying to solve: [describe their main problem] – What they already know: [are they familiar with your industry or do you need to explain basics?] – What I want them to do after reading: [book a call, download something, just trust me more] A FEW EXAMPLES OF MY WRITING [Paste 2-3 sentences or a short paragraph you have actually written — an email, a caption, a bio line. Anything real.] Now write [what you want] in my voice, using everything above as your guide.

Want a version built specifically for you?

This starter prompt gets you most of the way there. The Aligned Voice Profile goes further — it captures your sentence rhythm, your hard rules, your confidence level by topic, and your real writing samples, then turns all of it into a custom skill file you install in Claude once. Every conversation after that starts from your voice instead of a blank slate.
